From time to time I like to post non-A84 related things on here to give you a little insight in to interesting, rad, pretty, or just fun things that I like to surround myself with or that I come across.
I’ve been living in Eugene, OR over the past few months (heading back to lovely LA in July) and since I’ve been here I have been able to enjoy a lot of what the Northwest has to offer; great hikes, beautiful rivers, trees, beer….lots of beer, and coffee of course.
As of lately I’ve become addicted to the smooth flavor and taste of Eugene’s Wandering Goat Coffee. Located in “The Whiteaker”, the Silver Lake equivalent of LA….or a smaller Portland if you will, this area boasts all the awesome and local breweries, small dive bars, and the best restaurants (in my opinion at least) in town.
Wandering Goat is a small specialty coffee roaster and is locally owned, that caters to the street punk, the fixie rider, the mom, the dad, the metal dude with B.O., and everyone in between. I first felt a little cautious as though they might be a little stuck as a stereotype coffee snob, but luckily I was proven wrong. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and the music ranges from indie jams to straight up grindcore. Nothing like a cup of joe and lush screams of goat blood to go with your Sunday afternoon.
Anyways, my favorite coffee of choice has been their “Hair of The Goat” coffee. They also offer beer on tap, as well as in bottles for those that are just down to enjoy the Oregon way of beer drinking. All in all this is a rad little coffee shop tucked away on 268 Madison Ave. Check it out next time you’re in Eugene!
